Worship/Concerts

Kristian Stanfill, music — Worship leader Kristian Stanfill is emerging as one of this generation's most compelling singer/songwriters. A writer of rare insight and vulnerability, he has the unique ability to build bridges over boundary lines that separate the hurting from the Healer. "A great worship leader must first be a great follower," Kristian asserts. "In order to lead people in worship you must first know how to listen to and follow the Holy Spirit." Kristian's songs have appeared on numerous Passion CDs and when he signed with sixstepsrecords for his debut project, Kristian became the label's first new artist since it's inception in 2000. Joining the label home of well-known worship artists Chris Tomlin, David Crowder*Band, Charlie Hall, and Matt Redman is heady stuff, but rather than fostering pride it merely served to reinforce Kristian's conviction that worship of a holy God is serious business. Kristian and his wife, Kerri, live near Atlanta, Georgia with their children, Isaac and Norah.

Aaron Keyes, music — Aaron has served as the worship pastor at Grace Fellowship Church (outside Atlanta, GA) for the past seven years. His heart is to restore the Word of God to the foundation of corporate worship, and to see a shift in the next generation of worship leaders (who lead songs) to becoming more biblically empowered worship pastors (who lead people).

Rush of Fools, music — Given the opportunity, Kevin Huguley will rattle off the personal accomplishments of his bandmates - lead vocalist/songwriter Wes Willis, guitarist J.D. Frazier, bassist Jacob Chesnut and drummer Jamie Sharpe - right alongside the professional ones his Alabama-based band has gone through. Because it's that intertwining of the internal and the external that made Rush of Fools' self-titled debut (and monster hit "Undo," ASCAP's most-played Christian song of 2007) so approachable and embraceable by a now- legion of fans. That fusion carries over into the band's second full-length release, Wonder of the World. "As we've been playing the title song already, we'll usually stop in the middle of it and talk about the lines 'Father, how can it be that you are Father to me?' as well as all the other things mentioned: Savior, Healer, one who shows favor on me," Willis says. "He's been so faithful to us, and at the very least, we should be that back to Him." Huguley concurs with his bandmate and co-writer. "We should be asking those questions in the song, because we don't deserve those things He's given us, but that's what makes it so wonderful.

KJ-52, music — In the past twelve months KJ-52 has surpassed 500,000 units for his career, won a Dove award, and been nominated for two more. KJ-52 has become one of the most trusted names in music as a songwriter, producer, minister, and comic poet, in spite of many seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Let's not forget: He is an unabashed follower of Christ, he is white, and he is a rapper. Most have said these things cannot be combined at all, let alone form an equation for success. But KJ has grown more than accustomed to facing his naysayers' head on. In fact, they fuel him: "I want people to tell me I can't do this. It's a big motivator. I love the challenge of proving critics wrong. I watched my own name mentioned on the 'Forty Least Hip-Hop Moments' on VH1' for writing a song to Eminem about who Christ was in my life. I actually love to hear things like that — I don't mind them talking about me because I am focused on a different goal than impressing those people. If I listened to critics it would distract me from reaching the kids who are in desperate need of help. My music, when you boil it down, is here for those in need."
